"Coimbatore should focus on component manufacturing for electric vehicles": Smart Mobility Forum

Coimbatore: In light of the world moving towards digital mobility, electric vehicles are seen as the basis of this transformation.

The Smart Mobility Forum of Coimbatore, in collaboration with CHINDIA (CHINA+INDIA) organized a business facilitation event at the Taj Vivanta on April 24, enabling Indian entrepreneurs to get manufacturing collaboration for electric vehicle part manufacturing.



 

G.R. Mohan, the Founding member of Smart Mobility Forum welcomed the gathering and outlined the vision of Smart Mobility forum and the need for the Coimbatore industry to focus on component manufacturing for the EV sector with international collaboration.

 

P. Manikandan, another Founding member of Smart Mobility Forum elaborated on the future of electric mobility, the future technological road map and the various components that can be manufactured in Coimbatore.



 

P. Bala, addressed the timely need of Indian companies focusing on component making and the advantages of collaborating with Chinese manufacturers. He emphasized that it is the only way to catch up with technology and adapt faster to electric mobility.

Dr. Chandrasekar, the Corporate Director from the Roots Group addressed the audience with various initiatives and elaborated on funding start-up companies for manufacturing EV components and systems.



 

About 100 members participated in the event.
